Little known facts about myself....
- I started painting in 1981.
- I got my start in painting when I became interested in learning calligraphy. My calligraphy teacher Debbie Slavin also taught brush lettering and strokework which she introduced to me. So my calligraphy classes led to strokework and then to tole painting. I was totally immersed and nine months later I started teaching.
- I've had the privilege of taking watercolor classes from Ken Decker. I've also taken oils from William Powell who is published with Walter Foster. Other teachers I've taken from include: Jo Sonja, , Patty DeRenzo, Mark Polomchak, Margo Clark, Judy Diephouse etc.
- I've taught at my local chapters ongoing since 1982 (both in San Diego, CA and Portland, OR).
- I'm a happily retired Navy wife.
- I have two grandchildren (a boy and a girl) from my married son.
