This portraiture came about as a result of my study of the wonderful portrait painter Sarah M. Peale who was America's first successful female artist. Edward possesses many of the qualities Sarah incorporated in her paintings including the rosy cheeks. This design was previously published in the 2011 Society of Decorative Painters Magazine.
